Sep 16    7th Annual Kade Meyer Celebration 5k Run
This event is dedicated to KADE MEYER, the son of Mark and Stormy, brother of Kennedy Meyer and friend to many. Kade Matthew Meyer lost his life at the precious age of 7½ in September, 2010, when he was killed by a car outside of his Elementary school. Kade was a happy, healthy, fun loving and compassionate little boy who always had a smile on his face. Kade loved using his hands building legos, playing guitar hero and playing sports, especially football, basketball and baseball. He was involved in the Gardner Parks and Rec sports programs and an active youth member of the King of Kings Lutheran Church. We will honor Kade's life as we come together to celebrate the time we had with him. All proceeds from the event will directly benefit students of the Gardner Edgerton School District. The KADE MEYER Memorial Fund has been established to assist students needing financial support for their education after high school. An annual scholarship is awarded to a GEHS senior(s) in Kade’s memory through the class of 2021, which would have been Kade’s graduation year. COUNTING THIS YEAR, 20 STUDENTS HAVE RECEIVED A TOTAL OF $69,000 IN SCHOLARSHIP MONEY SINCE 2011! AS KADE WOULD SAY, "THIS IS AWESOME!"

Bullying is called the silent epidemic. Although half of workers have experienced or witnessed bullying, policies and laws dealing with it are far less prevalent. This is, in part, because bullying can be hard to identify and address. People wonder, what does bullying look like? How can we discourage it in our workplace? What can I do to protect my staff and co-workers? Join us for a discussion by a panel of experts where many of these questions (and more!) will be covered. Hot breakfast included.
